English:
Imagine a physical place between life and death. A mountain as a place of pilgrimage, for anyone who has lost someone or fears the end. A mountain that you can climb, visit and leave again. Inspired by this mountain, theatre-maker Tim Hammer examines his greatest fear: our mortality. In De Berg van de Angst (The Mountain of Fear) we follow a lifelike doll during her last journey on earth. In combination with classical guitar, three puppeteers make her dance as if her life depended on it.
Set design:
Originally the set design was a large, white triangle combined with two large stands for the audience to take place on. Due to Covid-19 a lot of alterations to the scenography had to be done. Eventually instead of a shape on set the directors asked for a void. I got inspired by death's 'nothingness' so I created a large oval shaped pool that reflects vigorously. This way I like to think of the reflection as an echo of a person who can't let go of life, trapped in another dimension.
